About Us

Sensobright Industries LLC is a US-based high-tech R&D company that holds 90+ international patents, 5 USPTO granted patents (US9030653B1; US10359329B2; US10642423B2; US10677673B2; US10795507B2) and 90+ international patents on tactile sensing technology. Sensobright Industries LLC employs two mechanical engineers with Ph.D., a mechatronics engineer, a materials engineer, an IT expert and two US veterans. Sensobright Industries LLC has been established in 2020 in Portland inside the silicone forest area,  has made over $3M investment in USA in 2020 & 2021 and is still continuing to invest in despite of the COVID-19 crisis.

Sensobright Industries LLC is owned by Assoc. Prof. Utku Buyuksahin, Ph.D. and KOC Holding. Dr. Buyuksahin was acknowledged by USCIS as a scientist who possesses extraordinary abilities in his field. He also was selected as one of the top 25 scientists across the globe in 2019 by Falling Walls Foundation

What Is Our Innovation About?

Sensobright’s R&D team is currently developing cutting edge (patent-protected) tactile sensing systems for robotics, space, medical, avionics and automotive industries. NASA’s engineers referred to the technology as “certainly a worthwhile achievement” in the report they wrote about our patented technology.

Sensobright has invented a tactile sensing system that can cover large areas of any geometry conforming its outer shape with similar features of natural skin at low costs. The main components of the sensor system are silicone rubber pad, fiber optic cables, computation unit along with the end user software and GUI.

Sensobright’s tactile sensors can be employed on a variety of applications, such as robotics (to provide better control in grasping or, etc.), medical/surgical devices (to provide a better feeling with more receptors—for remote operations (haptics) or to produce human-like prosthetics with senses), space suits (to provide actual sense of touch), tactile and proximity sensing for converting regular industrial robots into COBOTs, luxury automotive interior by covering any section with touch screen.

The key features of Sensobright’s tactile sensors are high spatial resolution, multi-multi touch capability, being insensitive to magnetic disturbances, being inexpensive, and flexible and bendable.

Inventor of the Technology

Associate Professor Utku Buyuksahin received his bachelor’s and doctoral degrees in Mechanical Engineering in 2004 and 2010, respectively. He also received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration degree in 2006.

He worked as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor at Yildiz Technical University Mechatronics Engineering Department between 2010 and 2018. Dr. Buyuksahin is the founder and CEO of HTMSS LTD and the executive board leader and CTO of SENSOBRIGHT INDUSTRIES LLC.

His main areas of interest are robotics, sensors, image processing, motion control, and neuromodulation. In addition to all of his high rankings in scientific project and music composition competitions, he also received many awards and plaques. He published more than 20 technical articles and a book. He took part in the organizing committee of 3 international and 1 national conferences.

In 2019, Assoc. Prof. Utku Buyuksahin was selected as one of the top 25 scientists worldwide by the Falling Walls Foundation, whose board members include the chairman of the Nobel Foundation.

Buyuksahin has more than 100 international patents, including the USA, EPO (Europe) and Japan patents, which are considered to be prestigious patents. He has been widely featured in many prestigious scientific journals, TV and newspaper news, and has been invited as a speaker to dozens of conferences in America, Europe and Asia.

Buyuksahin has completed more than 70 projects including 3-axis CNC Milling Machine, 6 DOF Stewart Platforms for 10D Cinemas, Vehicle Simulators, 11 DOF HEPA Filter Test Robots. (All the mechanical designs, manufacturing, electronic designs and applications, software for these projects were done by Buyuksahin.)

Between 2002 and 2009, he made 3D modeling and animation drawings for Turkey’s leading architects, major construction companies and military supply companies, as well as advertising agencies.

Buyuksahin gave more than 200 concerts as the solo guitarist of his band. He has over 100 compositions, some of which are also used in radio and television advertisements. (He plays all the instruments in the recordings of his compositions.)
